Student Blog/Class News
Room 27 Student Blog Nov. 4, 2009 By Collin Today we had an exciting day. First, we came in and did DOL. Then we watched a movie about a book we've been reading, Island of the Blue Dolphins. After that we went to recess. Then we continued watching the movie because recess cut into watching. We did math after that. It was about algebraic expressions. We went to lunch after math. Then we did SSR (Super Silent Reading) and social studies. We were dismissed at 1:50. We had an awesome day! Oct. 29, 2009 By Zachary Today, we started off with DOL. Usually, we do two sentences for DOL, but today we did only one. Then, we did language arts. Like normal, we read "Island of the Blue Dolphins" together and independently. After we read, we wrote about why the animlas are important to Karana. Afterward, we looked at our class Web site. Our class did a quick overview of the Web site. Later, it was recess. I couldn't make it to recess because I had to get the flu shot. When I got back, it was band time. After band, it was lunch. We read for half an hour after lunch. For social studies and science we read out of a "Time for Kids" magazine. On the last part of the day we did "States and Capitals." It was very fun! Oct. 27, 2009 By Taylor Hi, my name is Taylor and I'm a student in Mr. Finkas' class. Today in class, we did a lot of fun stuff. This morning we did DOL, we took a spelling test, and language arts. In language arts, we read a couple of chapters in a book we're reading in class called "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and individually we wrote down the question and answered it with facts from the story. Then we had recess for15 minutes. When we got back from recess, we started working on our writing sample. After, we watch a video that was about sneezing into your sleeve. It was hilarious!
